Gilbert-Syndrom-Gremium
Das Gilbert-Syndrom-Panel ist ein Gentest zur Identifizierung von Mutationen im UGT1A1-Gen, das am Bilirubinstoffwechsel beteiligt ist. Mutationen in diesem Gen können zum Gilbert-Syndrom führen, einer häufigen genetischen Störung, die durch erhöhte Bilirubinspiegel im Blut gekennzeichnet ist. Das Gremium testet genetische Varianten, von denen bekannt ist, dass sie diese Prozesse beeinflussen.
Dieses Panel richtet sich an Personen mit einer familiären Vorgeschichte des Gilbert-Syndroms oder an Personen mit Symptomen dieser Erkrankung, wie etwa leichter Gelbsucht, Müdigkeit und Bauchschmerzen. Gentests können eine Diagnose bestätigen, als Grundlage für Behandlungs- und Managemententscheidungen dienen und als Leitfaden für die Familienplanung dienen. Tests können auch nicht betroffenen Familienmitgliedern Sicherheit geben.
Die Analyse berücksichtigt die Mutation der Keimbahn-DNA und untersucht SNP- und Indel-Mutationen bis zu 150 bp.
