Aicardi-Goutieres syndrome is a rare, inflammatory disease of the nervous system. It is caused by mutations in genes involved in the disposal of nucleic acids, which are mistaken for viruses by the immune system. This mistake triggers an abnormal immune response that damages brain tissue.
This panel is particularly suitable for subjects with clinical suspicion of Aicardi-Goutières syndrome and for those with affected family members, in order to know their personal and transmission risk.
