Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disorder that affects multiple organs and tissues in the body. SLE is caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors, and this panel tests for genetic variants that are known to contribute to the development of the condition.
This panel is designed for individuals with a family history of SLE or individuals with symptoms of the condition, such as joint pain, fatigue, and skin rash. Genetic testing can provide information on disease risk and severity, as well as inform treatment and management decisions. Testing can also inform family planning decisions and provide reassurance for unaffected family members.
