Erythropoietin Receptor

Erythropoietin receptor binds to erythropoietin, a hormone produced by the kidneys that helps regulate the production of red blood cells. In the event of mutations in the receptor, it will tend to remain in a pathologically active state, resulting in excess erythropoiesis which, in turn, increases the risk of clots, headaches, shortness of breath, dizziness and nosebleeds.
