Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy is a neurodegenerative condition due to recurrent head injuries. For this reason it more frequently affects people who practice contact sports such as rugby, football, boxing and wrestling, to name the most important ones. Frequent and severe trauma to the head causes functional and metabolic alterations in neurons, resulting in cell death. Symptoms include dementia, behavioral changes/psychiatric symptoms, cerebellar dysfunction and pyramidal/extrapyramidal changes. Although the etiology of the condition is environmental in origin, genetics plays an important role in its progression and severity.
This panel is particularly suitable for those who, during their sporting activity, have suffered brain trauma compatible with the appearance of neurological alterations.

The analysis takes into consideration the mutation of germline DNA, it investigates SNP and Indel mutations up to 150 bp.
