MODY (Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young) is a term that indicates a form of monogenic diabetes that is not of autoimmune origin. The genes involved in its onset are responsible for the secretion and functionality of insulin, the hormone that regulates blood sugar levels.
This panel is indicated for those who have a positive family history for the condition (since they have a greater risk) and/or symptoms attributable to it, such as hyperglycemia, excessive thirst and excessive urination, susceptibility to infection, dehydration.
The analysis takes into consideration the mutation of germline DNA, it investigates SNP and Indel mutations up to 150 bp.
